Oh my god, I can’t believe it… (the Kaiser Chiefs reference will make sense later) Has it really been 3 years since I made the decision to create a specialist technical recruitment agency that puts people and sound ethics ahead of sales targets? Doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun!
The team has grown steadily over the years, from me all on my lonesome in an office resembling a broom cupboard, frantically trying to find the best IT jobs for the people of Suffolk, to a team of 4 experienced consultants in our new ‘penthouse’ office in Epsilon House, Ipswich – sounds posh, doesn’t it?
Relax! I won’t be building any ivory towers any time soon. In fact, I feel very humbled by the people I’ve been lucky enough to come into contact with since opening the doors of Hurren & Hope. I want to take this opportunity to pass on a huge thank-you to the candidates and clients who have been part of keeping my family fed and a roof over our heads – sincerely, thank you for your support. I also want to say a huge thanks to my awesome team for having faith in me and coming on board. It’s great working with all of you and I continue to be in awe of your talents.
IT recruitment is a very competitive sector, so making it through the notoriously difficult first 2 years, adding 2 new consultants in the 3rd year, and going from strength to strength to reach our 3rd anniversary, is definitely a cause for celebration. So last Friday we took ourselves off for a day at the Newmarket races… H&H go to the GeeGees!
It was a great day out for the team, even though our collective ability to pick a winner was inversely proportional to the amount of Prosecco we quaffed!
To be fair, we kicked things off in a very civilised manner, with a picnic by the course, but if you can’t let your hair down on your 3rd birthday, when can you? Luckily, we were all still upright when the Kaiser Chiefs took to the stage to belt out their hits – they certainly know how to put on a show! It was the perfect end to a lovely evening.
So as we enter our 4th year in business, we’re looking forward to further growth and expansion, and helping even more IT professionals in East Anglia find their perfect role. And of course, we’ll continue to have fun along the way. I predict a riot!
If you can see yourself here as part of the team, joining us for our Christmas outing or next year’s anniversary gig, please get in touch. We’re always looking for good people.
