£30000 - £35000 per annum
Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk
System Administrator required for an award-wining nationwide IT Solutions Provider based in Bury St. Edmunds. Regularly featuring as a Times Top 100 employer (they have won this award several years in a row!), the team in Bury are dedicated to one of the fastest-growing sectors in the industry and can boast being a Platinum partner for a variety of well-known vendors. As a key part of a highly technical team that is exposed to the latest technologies in their sector, you will be providing support across the board from 1st to 3rd line for a variety of end users together with system administration of their internal network. They have an extensive client base, respect throughout the sector and offer fantastic training and progression possibilities.
Ideally, your CV will demonstrate a vast range of technical skills across Windows Server, Networking (LAN, WAN, DNS, TCP/IP etc) and Active Directory/Exchange, this list is not exhaustive however. Applications from candidates with exposure to Cisco Routers/switches/firewalls/VPN will go to the top of the pile. Ultimately, full training on the software and solutions they provide will be given, what is essential is the combination of understanding hardware fundamentals and strong communication skills as you will be the first port of call for any technical issues and dealing with 3rd parties on a regular basis.
This would be a great opportunity for an individual who has experience across 2nd and 3rd line support and is looking to make the next step in their career and will equally provide a great opportunity for an experienced System Administrator or Network Support Engineer who is looking to progress in a company that is a recognised player in the industry. It is important to note there is an out of hours aspect of the role, which involves taking the phone home and potentially supporting any issues that may arise. This will only come into play after 6 months of service and would only be roughly 1 in 6 weeks. If you would like to know more, please get in touch with your latest CV.
