£325 - £375 per day + 3 months rolling contract

This Systems Administrator role is reporting directly to the IT Group Director, working within a successful global manufacturer this role is a highly autonomous post with oversight for the companies site in Birmingham and on a remote basis Nottingham. The company is now in the throws of a company-wide change programme at its heart is the migration of the companies ERP solution to a brand new purpose-built solution. The company has also grown through acquisition and the company IT Director is now in the midst of writing a road map that will bring three disparate infrastructures into one consolidated platform. This role sees you taking over the 'business as usual' activities while also playing a part in the company's change strategy.
Strong communication skills and the ability to represent the IT department as a stand-alone ambassador for the site is vital. Technically my client use a wide variety of Microsoft led technologies, solid knowledge within Network and Server Admin will be required in addition to an understanding of Cyber Security, Disaster Recovery and VMware. Technologies include but are not limited to:HP Switches or Dell Switches - layer 2/3 managed VMWare Active Directory 2012 Zimbra (nice to have) Standard Desktop/Server Support however a colleague will manage the majority of the Desktop aspects. Experience with Sophos AV, Sonicwall firewall and PRTG or other monitoring tools Veeam Backup
There is an existing ERP system that will need supporting via external service contract mainly.
Ultimately this is a request for a safe pair of hands well versed in the Infrastructure realm with experience gained from a number of larger-scale SME environments. An immediate start is needed to enable a handover from the existing post holder. There may be some very limited expensed travel to Nottingham as part of this role.
