It gives me great pleasure to announce we’ll be joining the likes of Google, Microsoft and Barclays in sponsoring this year’s DevelopHER Awards, taking place on 30th November at the Ipswich Corn Exchange.
We’ll be sponsoring the Eye for Design Award, which was sponsored last year by a little-known company called Google – so they’re pretty big shoes to fill!
The DevelopHER Awards were created by Norwich-based tech community group SyncDevelopHER and its founder Vickie Allen, with the goal of raising the profile of women working in technology in East Anglia. The aim is to create role models to inspire the next generation to become developers, technicians, project managers, testers and digital experts.
The Eye for Design Award is specifically aimed at digital designers, who regularly use their flair and creativity to produce breathtaking designs.
Hurren & Hope have long been an advocate for promoting diversity in the technical sector, so these awards are something we’re only too happy to support.
Women have played too small a part in the technology sector for too long now, so it’s great to see events like this promoting IT as a career choice and flying the flag for women who are working successfully within this male-dominated industry.
This year’s awards feature 16 categories spanning all levels and disciplines, so if you’d like to recognise the tech star in your midst, you’re encouraged to nominate them here and help her shine! The glamorous award ceremony would be a great way to celebrate their valuable contribution to your team.
Please visit developherawards.com for further info or follow SyncDevelopHER on Twitter @SyncDevelopHER and Facebook. If you’re interested in helping out as a volunteer on the night or with social media, graphic design and content curation in the run up, they’d love to hear from you.
Nominations close on 5th September 2016 and you can buy tickets to the event here – it’s sure to be a cracking evening. See you there!
